I had December 21st – January 2nd off this year (though I ended up working a huge portion of it — part of the joys of working for a rapidly growing startup), and we decided to redo the master bedroom and bathroom, as well as use some of our Christmas money (and bonus money) to finally get a new couch and loveseat for the living room.
Today, we put up the light fixture in the bathroom, and called an end to home improvement for the year. ;) And then took pictures.
This gives you a rough idea of what the master bedroom looked like before. We had hung up art, but it was still pretty bland.
Now… now it isn’t.
This gives you the best idea of the wall colour, though it isn’t a great picture — two shades of green there, the lighter on the long walls, the darker on the window wall and opposite.
The bed, rearranged, with art and new duvet cover and glorious greenness.
Another overview shot.
Then, you travel down the hallway to the bathroom.
The bathroom got a glorious gold glass shaded light fixture to replace the cheap one that was there before, and two shades of a yellowy green paint.
It makes a huge difference.
Also a new plastic shower curtain. :)
As the last of our home improvement, we head downstairs to the newly put together living room.
Crow, Noire, and Charlotte show off the new rug.
It’s challenging to get an overview shot of the room, but here’s an idea.
The couches are a rich dark brown leather that are hard to photograph.
But quite pretty.
The new carpet, though, is one of my favorite things ever.
