Cast of Characters:
Gus, 8 year old Maine Coon
Skimble, 11 month old Oriental shorthair
Charlotte, ancient German shepherd (possibly mix)
Crow, 6 year old standard poodle
Noire, 4 year old doberman pinscher
Last time I posted, people marvelled at the difference in size between Gus and Skimble. The perspective on those pictures were somewhat off, so I suffered and took some more for you. :)
What? Everyone doesn’t have a basket for cats to sleep in on their kitchen tables?
As you can see, Noire and Skimble are doing much better with each other. The dogs have more or less gotten over him, and he’s still disdainful of the dogs, but not enough to actually stay away.
This is Ball Outtake #1, where your fearless blogger attempted to see if I could get both animals to look at me alertly and the camera to focus correctly. Answer: No.
Skimble is bored, Noire is vibrating with the intensity of Ball Love(tm).
This is what cooking constantly looks like in my house — incoming cat to leap on your shoulders.
A few more Gus and Skimble shots.
They looked temporarily too dignified, so it’s time for some play wrestling!
Next up, some dogs!
Ancient dog, covered in snowflakes.
Why poodles are better.
You take a random snapshot of a doberman, you get this.
You take a random snapshot of a GSD, you get this (with extra bonus doberman camerahogging).
You take a random snapshot of a poodle, and he looks like he’s been posing for three weeks, and has perfectly decided the right expression to look both elegant and loving all at once.
Even ungroomed with his head poof falling apart.
Yes. We all acknowledge that poodles are the best, and bow to our new poodly overlords. He and Skimble are going to take over running the house. They’ll probably do a better job.
